Some highlights:

Casa do Alentejo serves as the location of the Regional Association for Alentejo.  This group seeks to promote, boost and preserve Alentejo culture.  The house, once owned by an aristocratic family, was for a time even used as a casino. In 1932 it was leased to the Alentejo Guild, later renamed the Alentejo Regional Association.
