For your days at home with family OBO Vanilla has a nice recipe to try using vanilla pods.
Ingredients:
125g or 1/2 cup of butter
110g or 5/8 cup of sugar
1 egg
seeds of 1 vanilla pod
225g or 1 3/4 cup of flour
In a mixer, beat the sugar and butter very well for about 5 minutes until the mixture is pale and of a creamy consistency.
Then add the egg and vanilla seeds and continue to beat until well incorporated.
Next, add the flour, cinnamon and lavender and mix well until you get a soft dough.
Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper until it is about 5mm/ shy of 1/4 inch thick.
Put the dough in the fridge for one hour, to become firm before cutting the dough with the cutters.
Then cut the dough in the shape of stars and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper. Cook in a pre-heated oven, at 170ºC /338ºF for about 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
