I don’t know if it’s cultural, however we’re used to essentially having negative thoughts, worries and living in the past, attached to the experiences that brought us unpleasant emotions.
 
One of the habits I created was feeding the mind positive thoughts
1st- Create a mantra that means something to you and recite it daily
2nd – When you have negative thoughts, replace with positive thoughts – go get a moment of your life that has been fond and brings you good memories
3rd – Put on a lively music, dance, sing }}
